Sacro monte laico è un percorso di consapevolezza che scaturisce dalla fascinazione che il fotografo milanese subisce camminando per la città, scoprendone i numerosi punti in cui la memoria diventa protagonista attraverso i luoghi, i monumenti e le assenze.
Prendere contatto con questo ha significato camminare, partendo da una piazza simbolo di uno degli avvenimenti più dolorosi della nostra storia, Piazza della Loggia, e percorrendo un viaggio verso l’alto, come allegoria della fatica che serve per conoscere e accettare il dolore provocato dall’odio dell’uomo.
La città ci appare chiusa nelle prime fotografie, le stratificazioni architettoniche sembrano abbracciare quelli che sono i segni della storia, realizzati per non dimenticare. E come stazioni laiche che ricordano l’iconografia della Via Crucis cristiana, le fotografie ci portano a soffermaci in punti che ci permettono una meditazione su alcuni momenti della storia, come approfondimenti per chi si muove, per chi interrompe i percorsi turistici consueti per entrare in un'esperienza intima più profonda.
Diventa fondamentale in queste immagini guardare verso l’alto, come per prendere fiato e per puntare ad uno spazio che da claustrofobico si fa sempre più aperto, che dal grigiore dei palazzi si trasforma nel verde del Castello di Brescia, meta finale dell’itinerario.
È un percorso della memoria, che vive attraverso i luoghi in cui si manifesta e si racconta. Raggiungere gli spazi che la conservano aiuta a ricostruire un contatto e percepire la forza viva che da essi si diffonde; l’incontro si sviluppa attraverso la vista, il tatto, l’olfatto. Sono i sensi che operano, ricordano e immagazzinano.
Dunque , elaborano e fanno memoria.
Circoscrivendo lo spazio e le esistenze che vivono al suo interno, Introini disegna un posto al di là dei confini fisici e mentali. Dà concretezza non solo ad uno luogo pubblico, ma crea un’apertura interiore in cui suscitare emozioni, inducendo alla riflessione sui grandi avvenimenti non solo della storia passata, ma anche del nostro tempo. Di un presente che è labile, incerto, pronto a diventare subito passato, ma che si apre verso un futuro possibilmente costituito di luce e speranza. La fotografia in bianco e nero di Marco Introini, fatta di purezza e di grande pulizia nella composizione, diventa il mezzo privilegiato per accogliere una riflessione sulla città e sulla sua storia, partendo dai tracciati urbani, all’interno dei quali le architetture, con le tracce del passato e del presente, diventano le quinte teatrali di un’esperienza quotidiana collettiva e personale.

Sacro monte laico is a journey of awareness that arises from the fascination the Milanese photographer experiences while walking through the city, discovering the many places where memory becomes the protagonist through sites, monuments, and absences.
Coming into contact with this meant walking, starting from a square that symbolizes one of the most painful events in our history, Piazza della Loggia, and undertaking an ascent, as an allegory of the effort required to know and accept the pain caused by human hatred.
In the first photographs the city appears closed; the architectural stratifications seem to embrace the traces of history, created so as not to forget. And like secular stations that recall the iconography of the Christian Via Crucis, the photographs lead us to pause at points that allow for meditation on certain moments in history, as deepening stages for those who move, for those who break away from conventional tourist routes to enter a more intimate, profound experience.
In these images, looking upwards becomes essential, as if to catch one’s breath and to aim for a space that evolves from claustrophobic to increasingly open, that transforms from the greyness of buildings into the greenery of Brescia Castle, the final destination of the itinerary. It is a path of memory that lives through the places where it manifests and tells its story. Reaching the spaces where it is preserved helps reconstruct a connection and perceive the living force that emanates from them; the encounter unfolds through sight, touch, and smell. It is the senses that operate, remember, and store.
They therefore process, and they construct memory.
By circumscribing space and the existences that inhabit it, Introini delineates a place beyond physical and mental boundaries. He gives substance not only to a public space, but also creates an inner opening in which to awaken emotions, prompting reflection on major events not only of past history, but also of our own time. On a present that is fragile, uncertain, ready to become past at once, yet that opens toward a future that may be made of light and hope. Marco Introini’s black-and-white photography, characterized by purity and remarkable compositional clarity, becomes the privileged medium for hosting a reflection on the city and its history, starting from the urban layouts within which the architectures, with their traces of past and present, become the theatrical wings of a collective and personal everyday experience.
