Biography



Marco Introini (Milan, 1968) majored in Architecture at the Polytechnic Institute in Milan, Italy.
Documentary photo maker of landscape and architecture, he is a lecturer of Architecture Photography and Representation at the Polytechnic in Milan.
In 2006 his work was published in the catalogue – curated by Franco Purini - of the Italian Pavilion for the 10th Venice Architecture Biennale.
He has been selected among the twenty most influential photographers of architecture of the last ten years and has been interviewed as such in Letizia Gagliardi’s book “
La Misura dello Spazio” (Rome 2010).
In 2015 he worked at the documentation of architecture in Lombardy (Italy) dating from World War II to nowadays by appointment of Regione Lombardia and MIBACT. He was also selected and invited by OIGO to take part into the photographic campaign on Regione Calabria (Southern Italy), The Third Island.
His photographic survey on the restoration of the church designed by A. Mangiarotti, Bruno Morassutti and A.Favini - one of the most important architecture of the Italian modernism - was published in the same year.
His project ‘
Architecture in Milan during the age of Enlightenment’, which is still in work in progress, was selected in 2015 by Fondo Malerba for Photography.
In 2016 his work was displayed by MAGA Museum in the personal exhibition “
Portraits of Monuments” a photo-work on Milan historical architecture after their restoration; in the same year the project ‘Warm Modernity_Indian Paradigm” on the Indian architectural Modernism was exhibited within the 21st Triennale in Milan and won the RedDot Award 2016 alongside with the book (curated by Maddalena d’Alfonso).
In 2018 he published: '
Mantua architectures, from Palazzo Ducale to Burgo paper mill', long photo survey from the Middle Ages architectures to the Modernism; 'Milan railways, today before tomorrow' on the rail yards before their modern transformation.
In 2019 he was invited by Giacinto di Pietrantonio for Bosc Art Cosenza to join a project-work documenting the town. In the same year Alfonso Femia, the curator of Biennale di Architettura di Pisa, has invited Marco to exhibit at Biennale with the photo work “
Repubbliche Marinare”.
In 2021 has seen him working on different surveys: modern architecture in Milan, industrial heritage in Lecco, case study urban interstices renovation in Italy and wood heritage in the Tanaro Valley.
In 2022 his work on Fiumara dell'Amendola was exposed for the
La Biennale dello Stretto and he worked on the water system between the Po river and Mincio, Secchia and Olio rivers; the work on Eduardo Souto de Moura Architettura Sulla Storia was exposed at Palazzo della Ragione of Mantua


His works are collected in different galleries and museums, such as: Fondazione MAXXI (Rome), MAN (Nuoro), Archivio CSAC (Parma), Museo MAGA (Gallarate - Varese), Fondazione AEM (Milan).
